2011 Children's Holiday Party a Success

The Halesite Fire Department's annual Children's party was a success with more than 97 children from around the Fire District in attendance yesterday.
This year the party featured Casey Carle's "Bubblemania" performed by Seth Bloom. The show was fantastic and very well received by all who attended. The highlight of the performance occurred when Seth encased several children safely inside giant bubbles.
After the "Bubblemania" performance, Santa arrived at the firehouse by way of Halesite's ladder truck driven by Ex-Chief Don Pope. Santa visited with each child and gave a small gift. Pictures of the children with Santa were also taken and can be obtained by sending a note to the Chief using the "Questions for the Chief" link on this website.
Special thanks goes out to Jennifer Pavelka, Halesite's Department Secretary, who organized the entire event. In keeping with year's past, she enlisted the help of her family members, husband Bob and son Alex. Halesite's Ladies Auxiliary assisted too, providing popcorn, coffee, juice and an abundance of cookies. Thanks also goes to Kari Peer and Kelly McConnell who served as Santa's Elves.
