Ex-Commissioner Frank Stalzer Named Halesite's Firefighter of the Year

During its 111th Annual Inspection Dinner at the Harbor Club on May 5, 2012, Ex-Commissioner and former Hook & Ladder Company member Frank Stalzer was named Halesite's Firefighter of the Year for 2011.
In announcing the award, 1st Assistant Chief Dan McConnell said, "Before relocating to Charlottesville, Virginia for work, this person responded to 67% of all fire calls and 62% of all rescue calls through October 30, 2011. Before ending his membership in late November 2011, this person logged over 325 hours in Halesite."
Frank was previously the Department's Rookie of the Year (2009), Rescue Person of the Year (2010) and was a Gold Award recipient (2010).
Halesites Firefighter of the Year award recognizes the firefighter who went above and beyond expectations in responding to fire and related emergencies during the year.
