Halesite Assists at Maternity Call in Huntington Station

Monday, November 5, 2012

Amid the destruction and wide spread power outage following Hurricane Sandy, Halesite responded to a Mutual Aid rescue call for an active maternity in Huntington Station on Sunday November 5th at 1:27am. When F. Rogers Ketcham, Jr., Jessica Kitzen, and Wayne Jeno arrived on the scene, they were greeted at the door by the cries of a just delivered baby boy. Captain Keith Rubenstein of Huntington Community First Aid Squad had also arrived on scene and assisted our members with the transportation to Huntington Hospital. Both mom and baby were taken to the maternity ward where they were found to be in excellent condition.

To honor this special event, Halesite is now proudly displaying a 2nd ambulance with a stork on it; Halesite delivered a baby girl on July 23rd, 2010.

Pictured left to right with 2-2-5 are F. Rogers Ketcham, Jr., Keith Rubinstein, and Wayne Jeno. Jessica Kitzen was not available for a photo.
