	The fire service can be challenging, as well as rewarding. I believe that no matter how long you are a member (and I have been a member since 1968), you can never say, "I have seen it all!" While many alarms are routine, eventually you use your training and skills to cope with a situation that you have not encountered before.

Donations Up at Halesite's Winter Blood Drive

The Halesite Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary held its Winter Blood Drive today in conjunction with the Long Island Blood Service. A total of 43 pints were donated - up from 36 last January. We are grateful to all who came down to donate - especially first time donors. The next Blood Drive in Halesite will take place in August 2013.
