Halesite FD Adds Two New EMTs

The Halesite Fire Department is pleased to announce that two new members have received their certifications as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs).

Betty Wood and Eric Ferber were both recently licensed by New York State to provide Basic Life Support to local residents. As part of their certification, both are trained in CPR using an Automated External Device (defibrillator).

Chief Dan McConnell congratulated both members saying "Betty and Eric both worked extremely hard to complete this certification. I congratulate them both for seeing it through and for their dedication to our residents. Given the steadily growing number of ambulance calls we are called to each year, we need new EMTs like Betty and Eric now more than ever".

The addition of Betty and Eric brings to 25 the total number of EMTs in Halesite.
