The fire service can be challenging, as well as rewarding. I believe that no matter how long you are a member (and I have been a member since 1968), you can never say, "I have seen it all!" While many alarms are routine, eventually you use your training and skills to cope with a situation that you have not encountered before.

Monday, December 27, 2010

Centerport Chief Bob Ciafardoni requested a Rapid Intervention Team from Halesite during the height of the blizzard last Sunday, December 26, 2010. Nine members from Halesite responded to the scene under the command of Chief Andy Magerle to assist in fighting a residential structural fire on Windmill Drive.

Halesite Fire Department is proud of the tradition of mutual aid cooperation it has with neighboring fire departments. In the case of the Centerport, Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor Fire Departments, this tradition has endured for more than 100 years.
