The fire service can be challenging, as well as rewarding. I believe that no matter how long you are a member (and I have been a member since 1968), you can never say, "I have seen it all!" While many alarms are routine, eventually you use your training and skills to cope with a situation that you have not encountered before.

Department Treasurer,

Drilling on Sunday Mornings

Monday, October 17, 2011

Sunday mornings are typically when members of the Halesite Fire Department train on new equipment, apparatus and tactics. This past Sunday training ranged from orienting new members to Halesite's 2nd Due Pumper to qualifying more established members to drive and pump 228. Members spent time reviewing the rig at fire headquarters and then set up the truck to pump at Flower Hill School.

Joe Grant is pictured at right pumping 228 under the supervision of Chief Andy Magerle, Ex-Chief Mike Magerle and Captain Bill Eletto.
