The fire service can be challenging, as well as rewarding. I believe that no matter how long you are a member (and I have been a member since 1968), you can never say, "I have seen it all!" While many alarms are routine, eventually you use your training and skills to cope with a situation that you have not encountered before. |

Fire Safety For Kids |
Educating your children about fire safety is an important aim of the department's fire safety and prevention efforts. You can help us by practicing Exit Drills in the Home (EDITH) and making sure all members of the family know a safe "rally point" outside in case of a fire or other emergency. Keep matches and hazardous materials away from children and be sure to attend the Halesite Fire Department's annual open house for other helpful tips and demonstrations.
