Hank Waldron is Halesite's 2011 Rescue Person of the Year
Sunday, May 6, 2012
The Halesite Fire Department named Hose Rescue Company member Hank Waldron Rescue Person of the Year at its annual Inspection Dinner at the Harbor Club on May 5, 2012.
In announcing the award, 1st Assistant Chief Dan McConnell said, "This years recipient is a new EMT to Halesite, having just completed the Basic EMT course. During 2011 he responded to 38% of all fire calls and 35% of all rescue calls. In total, he logged 382 hours in Halesite. What made him stand out this year was not only his alarm response percentages, but also his leadership role in helping to revamp the logistics and materials management of the Rescue Squads equipment and supplies. Implementing a new inventory system, Waldron has allowed the department to avoid running out of crucial supplies as well as improve the timing of replacement orders." 1st Assistant Cheif McConnell added, "He is always available to cover another members duty crew and can be counted on to participate any rescue stand-by Halesite is called to."
Halesites Rescue Person of the Year recognizes the individual within the Department who stood out among our Rescue Squad members during the year.
