Cat Saved in Centerport Fire

Halesite Fire Department was called to a fully involved house fire on Idle Day Drive by Centerport's Chief Robert Ciafardoni on Sunday, April 26, 2009. During a secondary search Captain Greg Colonna rescued Sam the cat in the building's basement. Once he brought the cat outside, rescue personnel administered oxygen by way of donated mask specially designed for pets. In only a few days, Sam had a complete recovery and was reunited with his family.
