Halesite Launches 2012 New Member Recruitment Drive

The Halesite Fire Departments annual recruitment drive is now under way. As a result of last years record-setting recruitment campaign there are only a few openings available. Local residents who were thinking about volunteering with the Halesite Fire Department should act now.
Were looking for men and women age 18 and older who are willing to help their neighbor with fire and/or rescue services. We are especially in need of volunteers who are around during the daytime.
Why volunteer? There is a tremendous feeling of pride when you come to another persons aid during a time of need. There are other benefits too. We offer access to department sports like golf and softball. We sponsor numerous family events throughout the year. And we offer the opportunity to receive tax deductions, a pension as well as life insurance and other fringe benefits.
You can join to ride the ambulance, be a firefighter, or both. No experience is necessarywe will train and equip you to provide these services.
For more information youre invited to attend an open house event set up exclusively for people interested in volunteering with the Halesite Fire Department. It will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10:00 am.
During the visit, local residents will meet with current volunteers, take a tour of the firehouse, and have the opportunity to check out actual firefighting and rescue equipment.
