The fire service can be challenging, as well as rewarding. I believe that no matter how long you are a member (and I have been a member since 1968), you can never say, "I have seen it all!" While many alarms are routine, eventually you use your training and skills to cope with a situation that you have not encountered before.

Halesite Assists at Lloyd Harbor Fire

The Halesite Fire Department was called by Huntington Chief, Dana Aliperti, to assist at a major house fire on Target Rock Road in Lloyd Harbor on Monday, December 7, 2009. Halesite sent one engine and ten members to assist with firefighting efforts and overhaul. Huntington firefighters rescued two cats and a dog from the burning home and helped limit damage to the house. In addition to Halesite, firefighters from Huntington Manor and Cold Spring Harbor provided mutual aid.
