As a member, I am impressed with the quality of training the district provides and as a resident of Halesite, I am grateful to have the fire house at the bottom of the hill always ready to answer ambulance and fire calls.

Halesite Assists Centerport FD with Mutual Aid

Halesite firefighters extinguish a small brush fire set by wires downed by a motor vehicle accident.
Halesite Fire Department sent one engine to the scene of a motor vehicle accident in the early morning hours of September 5th to assist with a fire created by downed wires.

The car accident was on E. Main Street just east of Cherry Lane. The overturned vehicle hit a pole resulting in live wires being down on the side of the road. The wires melted the asphalt and started a small brush fire. Once power was cut to the lines, Halesite put out the fire.

Halesite's members were under the command of Chief Dan McConnell.
