Halesite's Alarms Down 20% in 2013

The Halesite Fire Department's total alarms in 2013 were 557, down 20% from 691 alarms in 2012. When broken down separately into fire and rescue calls, Halesite's fire calls were 30% lower year-over-year and its rescue calls were down 10% from 2012. In total, 2013 was Halesite's 8th busiest year.

According to Chief Dan McConnell, "Halesite's alarms were thankfully lower this year due mainly to less hurricane activity."
