Halesite Assists Centerport at Wind Driven Fire

Centerport Firefighters make an aggressive attack on the second floor of this private dwelling.

Ex-Chief Tom Holly and current Hose Rescue Company Captain spent time directing efforts inside the building.

New member KC Anna was in the thick of things at one of his first fires.

The Centerport Fire Department called upon the members of Halesite to assist with a working house fire this afternoon. Halesite's engine was one of several mutual aid companies sent to the scene of a private dwelling on Harbor Park Drive.

Upon arrival, Halesite immediately went to work under the command of Centerport's 1st Assistant Chief, Brian Mark. Halesite Chief, Dan McConnell, worked with Chief Mark at the Command Post. A total of 13 Halesite members, including 2nd Assistant Chief Jamie Magerle, provided support to Centerport.

Chief McConnell remarked, "I'm grateful to Chief Mark for calling on Halesite to help out. Our members worked well together in extinguishing a stubborn fire."
