Halesite firefighters worked on the second floor of this fire to help extinguish the blaze.
The Halesite Fire Department was called to a major fire at 330 Main Street Wednesday at approximately 3:20 am. Halesite joined Huntington Manor, Cold Spring Harbor, Melville, Centerport and Greenlawn in providing mutual aid to the Huntington Fire Department.

Halesite provided one Engine to the scene with nine members under the command of Chief Dan McConnell. Halesite's firefighters soon went to work on the second floor of the structure providing assistance with hose line operations as well as pulling ceilings to improve fire extinguishment. Huntington Chief Bob Berry was the fire's Incident Commander.

This morning's fire was the second major blaze to strike Huntington Village in 2014. On March 1st a fire destroyed several businesses on New York Avenue. Halesite sent an engine and an ambulance to that fire at the request of the Huntington Fire Department.

Halesite was on the scene for approximately four hours. There were no injuries reported. All photos courtesy of the Halesite Fire Department.
