A commercial building fire in Halesite Monday evening resulted in no reported injuries, authorities said.

The fire at the two-story commercial building at 175 East Main Street was reported at 8:27 p.m. The two-story professional building housed doctors offices and medical practices. There was no one in the building at the time of the fire, according to officials.

Nearly 100 firefighters from Halesite, Huntington, Huntington Manor, Centerport and Greenlawn fire departments battled the blaze using 12 trucks. Firefighters from Cold Spring Harbor and Melville provided standby coverage for Halesite and Huntington during the alarm, authorities said.

The fire was brought under control in about 90 minutes, led by Halesite Fire Chief Dan McConnell, and Assistant Chiefs Greg Colonna and Jamie Magerle.

The blaze damaged six second floor offices, and caused smoke and water damage to parts of the building. The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating.

Suffolk Fire-Rescue Coordinators were also dispatched to the scene. PSE&G and National Grid were requested to respond and secure the utilities. The fire caused the closure of Route 25A in both directions.
