Halesite Firefighters Deliver Baby

Halesite firefighters responded to a mutual aid rescue call in Huntington Station on July 23, 2010 for a female patient in active labor. Ex-Chief Dennis Troup, F. Rogers Ketcham, Jr., Dave Willis and Frank Stalzer rendered care to the expectant mother en route to Huntington Hospital. During the ride to the emergency room, the baby was born in the back of Halesite's rig. In recognition of the event, Halesite affixed a decal on the side of its ambulance featuring a stork carrying a baby.
